About Joanna
I hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree and am a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). Since 1995, I have provided counselling to individuals, couples, families, children, and teens, as well as facilitated therapeutic and support groups in a variety of settings.
My approach is eclectic and tailored to each person's unique needs, strengths, and goals. I draw from a range of evidence-informed therapies, including Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Play Therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT/tapping), and Solution-Focused Therapy.
I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is at the heart of meaningful change. My goal is to create a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to move toward their goals.
Sessions are available virtually across Ontario or in person at my bright, welcoming office near Bloor and Spadina in Toronto, conveniently located steps from Spadina subway station with accessible parking nearby. An elevator is available.
On a personal note, I am married to my high school sweetheart and am the parent of three teenage and young adult children. I enjoy gardening, yoga, live music, scuba diving, travel, and spending time with my fur babies, Rocky and Murray. These experiences help keep me grounded and remind me of the importance of connection, curiosity, and balance in everyday life.
